ABOUT
Born and raised in the Buckman Neighborhood, brothers and co-owners Simon (right) and Rion (left) are dedicated to increasing the livability of Portland, starting with building and remodeling homes to meet the needs of its residents.
Simon Lyle
Simon started young as an artisan with mixed media projects and art shows. A natural networker and naturally organized, he also created 3D projects as a visual artist.
In the Portland Monthly July/August 2008 magazine article, noting the 32 top Portland craftspeople for wood, stone, tile and more; Simon was referred to as a functional artist, able to see art work in construction.
Since this initial experience, he found himself in multiple job titles learning the construction business. Simon has had the opportunity to work hard, mentored by good contractors, and has had years of experience in construction and design.
Rion Lyle
Rion wanted a bigger global and cultural experience, leaving Portland at the end of his Grant High School education to live in Northern India at an American Sikh High School. When graduating he wanted to pursue a degree in International Business Project and Economic Development. He interned in South Africa.
Rion earned his Masters in International Project Management and Business and Economic Development in Paris from the University Paris-EST Creteil in 2011.
While in France, Rion fell in Love, married a brilliant woman and asked her to move back to Portland, Oregon, to live in the greatest city on the planet.
These two brothers, after a lot of discussions, took their vision and growing expertise, as well as their belief in one another to create Born and Raised Construction LLC in 2016 (CCB # 210668).
And here they are, prepared to support clients to be able to create their dream, one step at a time. From design inception to the finishing touches, Born and Raised offers a professional experience - the highest quality products and craftspersons.
